Project Quilting Update
PQ 17.4 Eras wall hanging 6” x 18”
Although I have not completed projects in time to submit to the Project Quilting page, I have worked on each challenge so far this year. Project 17.3 was “year of the horse”. For that challenge I worked on a pattern design but have not had a change to complete it. It is an Unicorn block, my favorite kind of horse. Throughout the week of 17.3 I enjoyed learning about the chinese new year and that this year is the year of the fire horse. That is definitely the energy needed this year!
17.4 Year of the Horse pattern idea
For Project 17.4 the challenge was “Eras” and since it was a little inspired by Taylor Swift I decided to make my youngest a wall hanging inspired by her 3 favorite TS albums. I decided to use simple blocks and had fun picking 3 different techniques. I made a traditional pieced heart block, a drunkards path clock block and used 1/2 of a dresden block to make a fan. Can you guess which albums are favorites in our house?
I missed challenge 17.5 due to illness. This year has been a doozy. This week is the last challenge, 17.6 A Happy Handful. I am looking forward to working on an idea of something that fits in my hand. Right now I am feeling a nice bag of some sort. Overall I have really enjoyed this season and although I did not complete all the challenges, I particapted to the best of my ability and more importantly had a lot of fun! Did you try any or all of the challenges?
